Who We Are
Dust Projects is a dynamic, innovative building company that combines architects and builders under one roof. Founded by Anton Ambrose (founder of the well-known architectural practice, Dust Architecture), the company offers a seamless and holistic approach to building - everything from project inception to completion is done under one roof. We build beautifully designed spaces that start with your budget.
The Concept
After 15 years running Dust Architecture, a persistent challenge emerged: 70% of projects failed due to budget and cost inflation. We often saw a lot of time and fees spent on designs that, when formally tendered, came back over budget. For our clients, this meant more fees were required to go through a redesign and a value engineering process. This often resulted in a product far removed from what our clients originally envisioned.
So, rather than continuing down this path, we decided to create a service that started with the budget. The only way to make this work was to guarantee the budget - something a cost plan from a Quantity Surveyor doesn’t do. The solution was to team up with some of our most talented builders, and that is how Dust Projects was born.
We launched Dust Projects as a complement to the architectural firm to solve this recurring issue in the industry. At Dust Projects, we price your project as it is designed - there will be no abortive tenders, no value engineering, and no cost uncertainty. We start with your budget and, using our in-house team of architects and designers, we deliver the best quality product you can achieve for your budget. It’s that simple.
Master Builders at Your Service
Our team, led by industry veterans, combines traditional craftsmanship with modern building techniques and technology. Historically, architects were known as master builders - traditionally, an architect would manage the entire project, including sourcing trades and working directly with subcontractors to construct a building. We follow the same principle.
We are the modern equivalent of a master builder, a title that reflects our commitment to quality and excellence in every project, big or small, and its delivery from start to finish under one seamless roof.
Technology at the Forefront
Innovation is at the heart of what we do. We combine the latest Building Information Modelling (BIM) software with our proprietary cost database. This means that as we draw a wall or a window, it is priced. So, we price a project as it is designed, rather than designing it and then pricing it.
