What happened to building apprenticeships?

Here at Dust Projects HQ we love the changing of the seasons, and after battling the elements during a busy winter, the arrival of Summer always puts a spring in our step. We have an exciting six months of projects ahead of us, here is a brief update of what we have been up to and what is coming up.

We think that learning on the job is more valuable than anything you can learn in the classroom, or from a book. Certainly in our experience, our greatest lessons came from doing, so to that end, we’re thrilled to introduce our first two Dust Projects apprentice builders - Alfie’s Grant and Parker.

Completed:

Chalk Hill Cottage, Meon Valley: We’re delighted to announce the completion of Chalk Hill Cottage. This project transformed a 1970s chalet bungalow with a new swimming pool and large extensions. The design focuses on accommodating a large family, seamlessly linking the interior with the exterior and maximizing valley views.

On the Drawing Board:

Here is a sneak peek into some of the projects we have on the drawing board that we will be starting to construct within the next few months.

St Albans Grove: This Kensington project, is a full rebuild and extension of a stunning 8000 sqft home for a Georgian investment firm, and requires navigating permissions. This complex transformation incorporates modern technologies into traditional designs, evolving from concept to construction, and blending historical elegance with future functionality.

Mimet House, Paddington Basin: This office rebuild and refurbishment demonstrates our expertise in transforming existing properties. This project integrates advanced construction techniques to create modern workspaces tailored to the dynamic needs of a modern business.

Burstock Road, Putney: This 4-bedroom house is a new build, set to embody modernity and comfort with a design that harmonises private spaces and open, light-filled areas, ideal for contemporary urban living.

Louis Pommery England’s Pinglestone Winery, Alresford: It’s always exciting to break ground on a new project. At Pinglestone winery we had to do exploratory archaeological groundwork to avoid Roman remains. We logged and recorded a Roman defensive ditch, so we could get on with the project
